The story

Three years of books, then a pizza shop, then this.

Emma Landry got three years into a psychology degree before she admitted the problem with it: it was all books. She wanted work she could do with her hands. She was picking up shifts at a pizza shop when she signed up for a nail tech course.

She took first place for nail art before she'd even finished it. The course ended, she rented a room, and Em’s Nail Zone opened.

It took about a year to fill the book. It has been full since — acrylics, gel extensions, overlays, pedicures — and there is a waitlist behind it now.

She is from the Mira River and she works in Sydney, twenty minutes up the road. Cape Breton isn't a backdrop she posts against. It's the entire client list.

The nails are the craft. The chair is why people come back — nobody in it is ever half-attended to.

Content pillars

Three things she posts, on purpose.

Everything on TikTok is the behind-the-scenes of what lands on Instagram. Instagram is the finished work; TikTok is the day that made it.

  1. 01

    Nail vlogs

Her actual day, filmed from inside the appointment — what she's building, who she's building it for, how it really goes. She started cutting in real client sessions and these became the thing that performs.

  2. 02

    Nail mail

Opening what the industry sends. Polish, tools, product drops — unboxed on camera, and then said plainly whether it earns a place on her desk.

  3. 03

    Nail art

The work itself, shot finished. Acrylics, gel extensions, overlays, and the detailed custom sets she's known for — the pillar she'd keep if she had to pick one.

Reach

The numbers, live.

Figures come straight from her platform insights, tracked live via InsightIQ — not typed in, and not a screenshot. Organic view counts include every piece of content that gained views inside the window, not only what was posted in it, and they read more conservatively than the in-app “Views” figure on her own account. Total likes is TikTok’s cumulative all-time count.

Two pieces worth opening.

TikTok Piece 01

A day in the chair

One of her better-performing nail vlogs. The shift came from filming inside real appointments — actual clients, actual sets, start to finish.

Instagram Piece 02

Detail, start to finish

A more detailed set that shows the full range of her nail art — the kind of work one particular client books her for, every time.

Audience

Mostly other nail techs.

The people watching are largely other nail technicians and people who are genuinely deep in nails — an audience that watches for the technique, not just the reveal. The splits below read live from her connected accounts.

Actively looking for nail brands — she already runs on DND and En Vogue. Not a fit in any format: alcohol, gambling, weight loss and diet, crypto, political, vaping and tobacco.

Work together

Put your product in a real chair.

Emma answers her own messages, usually inside one to two business days. Tell her what you're launching and which of her three pillars you think it belongs in.
